“Inspiration can be drawn from everything, everywhere, if you keep your eyes open.”
~ Andrew W. Bentley ~

Andy Bentley is a Durham resident, by way of Ohio where he was born and raised.  Andy studied fine art with an emphasis in oils and color at Shawnee State University in the southern foothills of the Appalachian region of Portsmouth, Ohio. Being raised in this eclectic area has caused Andy to be drawn closer to nature and the more simple things in life; this is where he draws most of his inspiration.
Each piece of Andy’s artwork is a grouping of organic shapes coupled with geometric shapes to produce a simple and delicate balance of life and emotion. Andy works mostly in oils, whether it is paints or pastels. You can find his artwork on display in various restaurants and galleries in Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, and now in North Carolina. He has also aided in the production of multiple murals along the Ohio River stretching from Covington, KY, to Point Pleasant, WV. Andy has been known to leave pieces of his artwork that he creates on location, in the moment, conspicuously located around towns he has visited and now here in Durham where he resides. This allows the finders of these pieces to be fully encapsulated in the moment of his creation.
